Proto Persona: Jilian
Jilian likes to run marathons but sometime lacks motivation to train. She finds the weekends to be harder than weekdays to get up and put on her running shoes to train. She would like to be able to track her pace, distance, and goals in an easy to use app. So on a Friday afternoon Jilian thinks to herself:
“I could’ve run better yesterday. I started off OK, but then began struggling. I wonder what goals I need to reach today?”
Saturday she wakes up and checks her phone, the RunMoto has a reminder for her to look at. She clicks on the app and it instantly gives her a motivational pep talk to get her excited to reach her running goals for the day. It also provides her with the information she needs to meet her set goals. Jilian gets up, puts on her running shoes, grabs some water, and heads out the door for the first breath of fresh air. Approaching challenges and reaching goals, all while distressing her body is the satisfaction she feels streaming through her body.

From the feedback from all the surveys (45) and interviews (3) I was able to determine the main pain points. There were about 15 total different data points obtained from this feedback. I was then able to create a persona, story board, and task analysis.
Neilson's Heuristic Trait followed:
#6 Recognition rather than recall
Minimize the user's memory load by making objects, actions, and options visible. The user should not have to remember information from one part of the dialogue to another. Instructions for use of the system should be visible or easily retrievable whenever appropriate. With the design of the mobile and iwatch app I was able to keep the screens and steps to a minimum so that the user did not have to remember where to go or where to click. The actions were easy to remember and had minimal options which in turn eliminated the chances of getting lost.
