Project: Cooking Class Reservation app
Create a web application for Williams-Sonoma to offer online cooking classes.
By creating a new and exciting cooking class scheduling system online all of our customers will be able to see what location has which cooking classes to take.
UX Methods used:
Research/Interview
Comparative/Competative Analysis
Affinity diagrams
Persona creation
Storyboard
Task Analysis
User Journey Map
Concept Map
Site Map
Userflow
Prototype testing in Invision
Systems used:

The Brief

Affinity Diagram
Per the feedback from all the surveys (35) and interviews (3) I was able to determine the main pain points. There were about 25 total different data points obtained from this feedback.
Neilson's Heuristic Trait followed:
#8 Aesthetic and minimalist design.
Users wanted to keep within the Williams and Sonoma website and not go to another page or another site to schedule a cooking class. They want a familar page with minimalistic design.

From the pain points collected, wants and desires, and also the layout of the Affinity Diagram I was able to create 3 personas and narrow it down to 1. This main persona is the target user for Williams and Sonoma cooking classes.
Neilson's Heuristic Trait followed:
#4 Match between system and the real world
The system should speak the users' language, with words, phrases and concepts familiar to the user, rather than system-oriented terms. Follow real-world conventions, making information appear in a natural and logical order. Here the persona is created with Williams and Sonomas traits in mind. The end product will speak her language with familiar key words and phrases.
Proto Persona creation

Task Analysis
From the persona and story board I was able to determine what the tasks/steps the persona would take to schedule a cooking class with Williams and Sonoma.
Neilson's Heuristic Trait followed:
#4 Consistancy and standard
Users should not have to wonder whether different words, situations, or actions mean the same thing. Follow platform conventions. Per the task analysis I was able to create a strait path for the persona to get to viewing and scheduling a cooking class with Williams and Sonoma.
.
Wireframe Mock ups:
When brainstorming the layout, I decided to stay with WIlliams and Sonoma's design palette. The layout and site map would be simple and easy to navigate.
Neilson's Heuristic Trait followed:
#6 Recognition and Recall
Minimize the user's memory load by making objects, actions, and options visible. The user should not have to remember information from one part of the dialogue to another. Instructions for use of the system should be visible or easily retrievable whenever appropriate. So the opportunity is to keep each page of information only displaying the intended step (i.e I did not offer additional steps in one single layout which is confusing to the user)

Prototype testing
InVision
InVision helps our distributed design team stay in sync. This platform helps track feedback from everyone on the team, and demonstrate interactions easily and efficiently. This was a good rapid prototyping tool that I used for this project.
Presentation
I presented my project to an audience using a Power Point presentation and also demonstrated the prototype usibility in InVision. From the user testing and project reflection I was able to fomulate some next steps
Next Steps
More user testing, create a higher fidelity mock-up, vector my drawings, and make different task flows for multiple personas.
